TO SPEED" - Craig Breedlove and the Spirit
of America™ World Speed Record Team depended
on Oregon Aero to design and build a custom seat
cushion for their LSR vehicle that's truly "up
to speed." Breedlove also uses an Oregon
Aero helmet upgrade. |
Craig Breedlove wants to be sitting on an Oregon Aero
seat cushion when he drives at supersonic speeds!
A five-time world land speed record holder,
Breedlove and the Spirit of America™ World Speed
Record Team asked Oregon Aero to design and build a
custom seat cushion system for the confined space of
their LSR vehicle. The seat also had to be able to withstand
the G-forces of traveling on land at more than 760 miles
per hour.
"Precision, quality and experience
are why I chose Oregon Aero to design a seat that's
literally 'up to speed,'" says Breedlove. "My
seat certainly is not your typical seat, and Oregon
Aero came through for me." Oregon Aero also upgraded
Breedlove's helmet. |

was one of Oregon Aero’s many interesting and rewarding
design projects. The design was successful and we appreciate
working with Craig and his team. |

test it in the plane, I set out on a 4,500 mile road trip to Alaska. This
was a trip I would never have considered, but as a former customer, I had

"I
have bad knees (hangover from early parachuting experiences).
My left knee…often begins to ache pretty badly
when I have to do a lot of walking or standing on
concrete
(sound like Oshkosh?). After our flight we were walking
exhibits when the pain became almost intolerable.
I
stopped by the Oregon Aero booth and Mike (Dennis)
was kind enough to (fit) some shoe inserts for me.
Almost
like magic, the pain eased, and by the time we walked
back to the Warbirds area, about a mile, the pain
was
gone! I don’t know how Mike does his magic, but
he sure does a great job of making long walks and
long
cross countries comfortable. I know everybody does
not take long cross countries, but I’ll bet almost
everyone takes a long walk now and then. Rather than
spend $150 on an expensive pair of walking shoes, I’d
recommend they spend money on your shoe inserts!"
