Highly Engineered, Patented Helmet Pads
The patented Oregon Aero® Ballistic Helmet Pads for the BLSS® Kit and BLU® Kit require complex design and manufacturing processes. Developing the patented pads demanded precise engineering of the visco-elastic cushion structure; a proprietary moisture and waterproof, yet gas and air permeable coating; a proprietary self-wicking fabric; and for the BLSS® Kit, an innovative Four-Point Chin Strap/Harness and Integrated Nape Pad.
What was the result after more than five years of research and development and millions of Oregon Aero's own funds invested in the project? Ballistic helmet pads which are pain-free, safer, stable (even with mounted equipment), moisture and waterpoof, gas and air permeable, positively buoyant, cooler and drier. The pads receive rave reviews from military and law enforcement personnel.
Each Oregon Aero® Ballistic Helmet Pad requires 27 separate manufacturing steps.

The Oregon Aero® Seven-Pad Upgrade or Replacement Kit (BLU® Kit). Each Oregon Aero® Ballistic Helmet Pad is inserted individually, by hand, into a two-sided fabric pocket. The pocket’s self-wicking fabric controls heat and perspiration and the hook/loop side attaches easily inside the helmet shell. Each pad is positioned precisely within the pocket before it is sewn shut by hand.
Oregon Aero® Ballistic Helmet Pads can be purchased as replacement, upgrade or OEM equipment.
