Ballistic Helmet Pad Thickness

The Oregon Aero® BLU® Kit and BLSS® Kit Ballistic Helmet Pads come in 3 different sizes (thicknesses). Comfort, shock absorption and other features of the pads remain the same, regardless of pad thickness.

  • Size 4 - ½" thick
  • Size 6 - ¾" thick
  • Size 8 - 1" thick

Most of our customers with a non-PASGT helmet use an all 6 configuration (¾" crown pad, ¾" oval pads and ¾" trapazoid pads).

PASGT Helmet
Most of our customers with a PASGT helmet use a 644 configuration (¾" crown pad, ½" oval pads and ½" trapazoid pads). If you have an extremely loosely fitting PASGT helmet, however, you may want to try an all 6 configuration (¾" crown pad, ¾" oval pads and ¾" trapazoid pads).
