How does Oregon Aero upgrade a production aircraft
seat?
A Oregon Aero upgrades
each seat by hand. (See photo
sequence) We strip the seat to its frame, inspect
the frame for damage and arrange for any necessary
repairs.
We clean the frame, which may include sand blasting
and repainting. We usually install a new webbing
system and then create
a composite
design
seat layer
by layer.
The upgraded seat is made from several materials, including
visco-elastic foam, and as many as 20 individually shaped
pieces. This complex process permits us to create a
seat that is as comfortable as possible for the individual
user and fits properly in each particular aircraft.

How customized can my seat upgrade be?
A As customized as
you desire. For example, tell us if you need more headroom,
if you need moved forward or back or want extra bolsters.
Q
How do you know how to upgrade my particular seat
to fit me?
A We have many years
of experience and have worked with virtually every type
of aircraft. First, our seat cushion designs
take into account the environment of the aircraft interior.
If theres something unusual about the interior
or the aircraft, we probably know about it. But if we
dont, well ask you a lot of questions. Second,
the design of our custom seat cushions will shift any
person using the seat into the proper, painless sitting
position (see the Introduction
to the Seat Cushion section). Third, our seat
cushions are "smart." They are pressure and
temperature sensitive and adjust to each user. Fourth,
we can alter the seat cushion design for extremely short
or tall persons, or for persons with special physical
needs.
Q Do you reupholster the upgraded seat?
A We provide custom
upholstery work in Custom Fabric, Custom Leather, and
Custom Fabric & Leather. We measure, cut and sew every
piece individually. We also provide custom interior
services.
Q Can I use a pre-made existing upholstery kit with
your upgraded seat?
A No. We do not offer
pre-made kits, seat covers, carpet kits or other ready-made
seat and interior pieces.
Q Can my existing upholstery be used on my seat upgrade?
A We do not reinstall
existing upholstery.

How long will it take for you to upgrade my seat?
A Talk to
us about this when you call for an appointment. Generally,
the seats need to remain at Oregon Aero one week
for a seat cushion upgrade and three weeks for an upgrade
and new upholstery.

How do I arrange to have my seat upgraded?
A Call
Oregon Aero’s seat department at 888-888-6910
and make an appointment. Then bring your seat to us
or ship the seat via UPS, FedEx or truck freight. We
prefer that your seat is intact when it arrives, no
matter its condition; you may separate the back
and bottom if necessary.

Should I disassemble my seat when I send it to you?
A No!
We prefer that the upholstery and foam are intact when
the seat arrives, no matter their condition; it helps
as we plan the upgrade. You may separate the back and
bottom to make shipping easier, however.

Can I stop by your facility in Scappoose with my
seat and talk to you about the upgrade?
A Yes,
we welcome customer visits to Oregon Aero. To best serve
our customers wanting to stop by for custom seat cushion
upgrades, however, we ask that you notify us in advance
of your visit so we can schedule the appropriate amount

Q Should
I get the VK SmartCushion™ Upgrade
or buy Oregon Aero® Portable Cushions?
A There are advantages
to both. An upgraded seat is always ready every time
you fly is more custmized, and provides the optimal
level of comfort. The Portable Cushions also provide
comfortable seating and if necessary, depending on
which thickness or cushion style you select, they can
raise you or move you forward in your seat. The Portable
Cushions can be moved easily to other aircraft and
used on other seating surfaces such as chairs, autos,
and boats. Many customers have both an upgraded seat
and Portable Cushions. Feel free to call us

Q Do you provide other aircraft interior services?
A Yes.
We offer complete custom aircraft interior upgrades. We
also provide Interior Panel Recovering, Carpet Replacement,
Seat Belt and Webbing Replacement
and Glare Shield Cover Replacement.
Q Are financing services available?
A Yes. Oregon Aero works with Aircraft Banking Centers,
Inc. to provide competitive financing
and refinancing for the VK
SmartCushion™ Upgrade or other Oregon
Aero® interior upgrade services.
