APECS VIII Ejection Seat Cushioning System
APECSŪ VIII Ejection Seat Cushion System for the
F-4 Phantom.

Oregon Aero uses a portable, digital measuring arm to reverse engineer an F-4 Phantom ejection seat. The mobile arm, which can be taken to an aircraft as well as used in the shop, produces a digital 3-D image of any shape. The image is processed through Oregon Aero’s CAD software and downloaded to a computer driven milling machine (in background) to produce an exact 3-D model of the original seat in plastic or metal, accurate to ±.002". Seat cushion systems are then designed using the model.
