Seats During Military Convoy |
Heres what a 27-year military officer had to say about
Oregon Aeros HMWVV (HUMVEE®) seats after a two-week evaluation:
"We did a 477 mile convoy, approximately
18 hours each way, with only scheduled ten minute breaks and
one 60-minute halt for fuel and chow. During this time I had
no discomfort from the Oregon Aero seats. They remained secure
in place, they provide good cushioning and did not develop any
hot spots. The seats are very good in wet weather. After a rain,
I would wipe off the excess water and the seats would dry in

RST-V Front Passenger Seat
All vehicle
seats feature removable lumbar cushions to accommodate equipment.

Oregon
Aero designed and manufactures the complete seat system as well
as the seat cushions for the General Dynamics Land Systems RST-V
(Reconnaissance, Surveillance, Targeting) diesel electric hybrid
military vehicle. The hybrid vehicle is adaptable to a variety
of missions. Oregon Aero seat cushions permit crews to focus
on their job without being distracted by seating discomfort.
The seat and seat cushion system
designs required sophisticated engineering. The seat and seat
cushions are able to:
- Withstand
harsh environments, including sand.
- Provide
spinal compression protection for passengers in case of
high impact (the vehicle is designed to survive a land mine
explosion).
- Be
fully adjustable forward and backward, including the front
seats folding back flat.
- Provide
pain-free seating for several-day missions.
- Be
re-configured instantly to accommodate equipment such as
utility belts and canteens.

knob on the side of the seat pulls straight up to move the
entire seat forward and backward on the rail.

lever at the rear of the seat frame permits the seat back to
lean forward and back at any angle in five degree increments,
including lying back flat. Oregon Aero designed and manufactures
the complete adjustable seat frame for the RST-V. Both seat
frame and seat cushions contribute to the seats ability
to withstand high impact. |

good example of Oregon Aero's versatility is the custom
upholstery and seat cushion upgrade for this Oregon National
Guard vehicle. The seat not only looks great but provides
pain-free seating. "There's an extremely delicate
balance that must be created and maintained through the
seat design and materials," says Mike Dennis about
